    Lot of these about this year.  Elephant hawkmoth caterpillar.  Put it back outside so he can finish growing and do his thing.   Lucky you.

    Ours live on fuchsias, if you have one you could put him on there. 
    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    I like to take finding things like this as a sign that you're doing it right in your garden, a welcome place for the right plants and creatures.
