Iberis varieties

MeomyeMeomye Posts: 849
I am a fan of white Iberis but until recently, had no idea there were so many different varieties. I would love to know which ones you recommend and why? I believe there is one with a large 'head' which I quite fancy. I intend to get some pink and purple ones next year so again if you have any favourites, I would love to know what they are. T i a

I only grow the white ones @Meomye, but I don't think there's a huge difference between most of them, other than height. They're very easy, accomodating  plants, and suit lots of locations. Great for front of border, especially if you need something to hide an untidy edge or similar.
Really easy from cuttings too. I bought one last year, and the two cuttings are already a good size. Can't recall wihch one it is - snow something probably - most of the white ones seem to be that!  :)

I grow 'Snowflake'..'Snow Cone'.. and 'Appen Etz'... I like all 3 and they're all a bit different... the last named is noted for very thin foliage..
...I suspect the one you are wanting is 'Snow Cone'...

Thanks @Marlorena and @Fairygirl for replying and your recommendations, may I ask Fairygirl how/when did you take cuttings?

@Meomye- I think when I got the recent one [around this time last year maybe] it was filling the pot quite well, and I separated a bit of it and replanted that. I took a cutting too - just in the usual way. Cut a bit off below a leaf joint, stripped the leaves off low down, popped it in a wee pot of gritty compost and then tucked it away and forgot about it. :)
Both those bits are a good size now - one is in a wall basket with other plants, and the other bit was potted on and is a good bushy little plant. I just need to find a place for it.
I believe you can grow them easily from seed too.
