Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this is please? I've inherited my garden from the previous owner. This has been sat quietly in a corner until a few weeks ago when it burst into flower.

It looks like a Japanese Anemone

I have a big patch of them and they are reliable and easy to care for.
But they do gradually spread out via their roots. I just pull them up if they're not where I want them. But thy provide a good splash of colour in late summer and autumn.
I cut the tatty leaves right back in the spring when the new leaves start to appear
