competing climbers

Hiya, I've sent up a large sunny pergola and was planning just to have rosa madame alfred carriere climbing over it, however I'm now attracted to the idea of having Akebia Quinata 'White Chocolate' competing with it on the frame. Is it a bad idea to have the two climbers competing on the same pergola?

I have Akebia Quinata and a climbing Mushimara Rose,so far no problems,they've been there for two years,and I intend cutting the Akebia back to keep it under control. But they look very good together.
I'm sure others will have a different opinion though!😊😊

what a beautiful variety of rose!
