Raspberry branch broken

It's been insanely windy today where I live and the raspberry plant I planted a couple of weeks ago took some damage to its one and only branch. The new growth at the top is completely bent down, its not broken but its bent right back on itself. Do I leave it to deal with it itself or do I cut it off and hopefully it'll grow back?

What type is it? If it is an autumn fruiter it will have to be cut right down in January anyway. If it is a summer fruiter, I would just cut it off at the bend, and it will send out side shoots to flower next year.

Hi fidgetbones, it's called Glen Coe and it's says it's a mid season one. Apparently it fruits on second year wood.
