i am a novice, so what is this? 🤔

    Hello @nickyhern and welcome 😊 

    Not ideal to do an ID from just a leaf ... would be better if we could also see the whole plant ... but I’m saying it’s an Acanthus ... either A. spinosa or A. mollis. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Hi @nickyhern - it would be tempting to answerthat question with 'it's a leaf'  :D
      
    As @Dovefromabove says, it looks like an Acanthus, but it's helpful to see the  whole plant in situ for getting an accurate ID. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
