White mold on the pot and roots of my avocado plants

Hello everyone!
I really love the avocado I planted a few weeks ago. It looks healthy and grows fast. But today I looked underneath the pot and saw this white mold. Is it dangerous? What caused it?

  • Nothing to worry about ... just one of those things that happens around pots of damp soil.
Enjoy your avocado plant ... are you going to prune it so that it branches out into a bushy plant?

  • @punkdoc 😊  I think Lisa means the white stuff on the base of the pot?

  • @punkdoc like @Dovefromabove said I do mean the white stuff that is mostly on the pot and a bit on the soil
  • @Dovefromabove thank you for your answer, thank you for the answer! I'm so glad that it's nothing serious. The link was really helpful too :)

It really is nothing to worry about. Your soil is full of organic matter that is breaking down so that it can be accessed by your plant’s roots. It’s moulds and fungi that break it all down ... all part of the normal circle of life 😊

  • @Dovefromabove It makes sense, I guess I just panicked a bit. I've read a lot of stuff about dangerous plant diseases so I got a bit paranoid. I'm also new to the whole plantparenthood thing so yeah. Again, thank you :)
