What clematis is this.

can anyone tell me what type of clematis this is.  It was given to me by a friend who didn’t know either.  It has very small lowers and leaves and climbs like a rocket!
This photo was taken in July. It now has tiny delicate stamens.

My initial thought was "Princess Kate", or possibly " Buckland Beauty". I think it's one of the texensis types.
There are some real clematis experts on here who should be able to advise  :)

I had one like that called Red Ballon in my last garden.  It's in the tangutika group so a 3 for pruning.  The outside of the flower starts that delicate pinky red and gardually turns through orange to yellow as it fades.

How about Clematis Vince Denny, although mine is only just opening its flowers

  • That looks similar too but mine has been flowering since July.  Seems there are lots of similar ones out there.  Should I treat it as a group 3 for pruning purposes?

It looks like a tangutica type, but not yellow!

I’m sure it a tangutica type, so yes, prune as group 3.
