Campsis Grandiflora

I have just seen some pictures of this red flowered plant, does anyone grow it, is it hardy and is it worthwhile?

I wasn’t hardy for me, it died but may be ok for you.

  • The google site I looked at said this plant needs full sun away from strong winds - is it worth the effort?  Perhaps I could grow it from seed, I don't want to spend £££'s on a plant that may not survive here, we are just 100+ miles from you Lyn ....... I wonder?

I don’t think you can get seeds for that one, only Radicans.
Its always a bit windy here and in the winter very windy.
Theres a small one here don’t know if they post to you.  Small plant but at least it’s bigger than a seed.

  • Thanks for the link @Lyn unfortunately this company don't post to Channel Islands - I have tried them before - no luck. Perhaps I will look out for Radican seeds for next Spring.  I grew Ipomoea (Morning Glory) this year - they were gorgeous flowers, but only lasted a morning and I don't think they were worth the time and amount of water needed to keep them from wilting, so I am looking for another plant to fill that gap.
