Viola Seed Pods

Complete newbie here. I have a viola struggling in a hanging pot, which I rescued and brought back to life after some neglect. After dead-heading, it is now starting to regain some colour and has produced a few flowers. Now I've discovered seed pods, and I'm not sure what to do about them. Should I remove the seed pods to encourage last of the summer bloom?

If you don't want to collect the seed then removing the pods will prolong flowering. :)

If you cut all the stalks down to the fresh green it will grow up nicely again, I keep these going right through the year.
