Should I sprinkle dry cement on gravel?

Lizzie27Lizzie27 Posts: 10,784
I've just laid some 20mm Cotswold gravel down over Terram (heavy duty root barrier) in a working area, which is sloping ground. I wondered whether to sprinkle dry cement lightly over the gravel and wait till it rains - would it bind the gravel together so I don't slide on it? Any other solutions please.

You'd need sand as well @Lizzie27, so that it's like mortar. It sometimes works, but you usually need quite a decent layer for the gravel to set into.

Thanks @Fairygirl, I've got some ready-mix mortar left over somewhere so might do a trial run with that where it won't be noticed!
