Tomato problems

First time growing cherry tomatoes

Can any one help and tell me what is going on.
The leaves have brown spots and the fruit doesn't look very healthy

Hi @ronnie63 and welcome to the forum smilei

I’m afraid the last two photos look like blight. https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=217

I would get rid of the affected plants in the hope that will prevent the spread to all your tomato plants.

  • I only have 2 plants!.  A gardeners delight and cherry baby

It looks mainly on the gardeners delivery.

I have large trusses of fruit that looks fine but green, can these be picked and ripened

There are black stems as well

    Black stems confirms blight 😢

if the fruit is green but unblemished you could pick it and hope that it ripens indoors on a windowsill of somewhere warm. If that doesn’t work use them for green tomato chutney.

And dont worry ... it happens to all of us 🙄

If you can take a green truss full of toms, they will ripen better on the vine, don't keep any that are going black. If the black stem is above the fruit cut it off and black bin it, make sure anything on the ground goes in the bin too. Most of us have problems at some time, and my Alicante didn't do well last year but usually it is a good variety, so maybe next year, weather permitting , you will have no problems.
  • Thank you - very frustrating as they have grown so well and have lots of fruit.

The cherry baby has lots of little tiny tomatoes (as does the gardeners delight)   will these be good for ripening as well, or are they too small and green

If they’ve begun to turn a paler green they should ripen quite easily. If they’re still dark green I’d make chutney
This is my friend Mamta’s recipe

I'm going to try that one😋
Do you have to keep it in the fridge @Dovefromabove?

Nope ... it keeps forever on our garage shelves ... if I hide it from OH. 😂

It’s advised to keep it in the fridge once it’s opened ... but I don’t. 😊
