Unusual flowering

Should my hellebores and magnolia tree be flowering in August?

How old is your magnolia tree? We have a couple small ones-under a meter tall and they just started to flower a week ago. The older ones have been flowering for weeks now. Can't comment on hellebores as ours are drowning in calendula....
  • The tree is several years old, we’ve had a lot of rain this summer and I was thinking perhaps that had something to do with it.

I think you are right. I notice having regular irrigation (timed sprinklers) things that would otherwise cease for the year continue to surprise. Our hellebores are in a very dry spot-not covered by the sprinkler at all. Enjoy it while it lasts :)
