    That's the one I knew best thanks to Billy Connolly, but  think Jimmy was the chap who had the option. I liked the way he explained that posh Glaswegians called the midden - the midding.

    I don't know if you're familiar with Stanley Baxter, @B3, but his Parliamo Glasgow sketches in his shows were legendary. Worth searching on YouTube for them.
    He was superb. My Dad [a Londoner] adored him  :)

    A while ago, I was talking to youngest daughter about him, and we looked at some online stuff. She was howling with laughter. He's a bit of an icon up here. Rightly so. The shows were cancelled because they became too expensive to produce.

    'Erra perra perrs oan a cherr owerrer' is  a classic   :D
