    Viburnum of some type I think.  I'm not great on shrubs though.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    I thought some kind of cotoneaster?

    I was looking at Viburnums and Elaeagnus and then when you said Cotoneaster... BINGO! Thank you both.

  • Definitely Cotoneaster lacteus. I have one in my garden, it's been buzzing with bees all summer, now waiting for berries for the birds.

    Thanks. I have just given mine a tidy up as it was reaching over the fence. Looking forward to the berries to give some interest. Mine is the top layer of my shady border, underplanted with ferns and with some pots (to deter slugs) with shade-tolerant plants.
