Just wanted to know whats the best Garden Compost I could buy for my garden border please, just thought I prep the soil before I start growing any plants/shrubs .
All depends on what they sell locally and whether you have sandy, loam or clay well drained or not. I mulch in autumn with a layer of manure and when planting sometimes add some grit or sharp sand and a multi purpose compost to the planting hole as I have clay soil. If you have home made compost you can either dig it in or use it as a mulch, just keep the stems of plants clear.
I'd also recommend using well-rotted farmyard manure, which is available in (usually) 50 litre bags in most garden centres and builder's merchants. This will help break-up heavy soils, add body to sandy soils and provide long-term nutrition. Multi-purpose compost is good for adding to planting holes but doesn't provide much benefit in the long term, so not ideal as a general soil improver.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
