Can anyone ID either of these pear species would really like to know when ripe. The previous owner of the house had these growing any help is much appreciated
I've only just started growing cordon pears and looks like Ill get my first harvest this year - and mine look at about the same stage as yours. I don't know what varieties you have, but harvest of pears is different to other fruits as they are picked before they appear ripe and then ripened off the tree (pears ripen from the inside to the outside, so when the outside looks ripe, the inside is often already rotten) Some info here https://www.starkbros.com/growing-guide/article/pears-ready-to-harvest
