Do you happen to know.....

You lovely gardeners out there. Do you happen to know what this plant is called. It came through with some mixed seeds that I planted earlier on in the year. Naturally the seed packet does not give me any details, other then it was a mixture of annuals and perennials. Thank you.

  • Thank you @k67 most grateful.
  • Aren't they nice @Jaqueline29 presumably an annual, but I haven't seen them before. How have they stood up to the rain?  I'm looking for things that will be a bit stronger if we have these storms again next summer.

It produces thousands of seeds. I grew some from seed a number of years ago. Now they pop up everywhere. Easily identifiable by the red leaved seedlings. I like the tasselly bits for flower arranging, but birds will eat (and spread) the seeds as well.

    Very attractive.
  • Thank you. My garden @Valley Gardener is quite protected from the winds. I have a high wall on the right and a lot of tall trees surrounding the garden. The wind seems to be just above some of my plants. So I count myself fairly lucky, and to be fair I live in an area that we do not get too many windy days. I do feel for those that do suffer with it, especially the weather (summer) we have at the moment. Us gardeners struggle with protecting out plants and also getting them to grow properly.
