Plant ideas

New here!

Have attached a couple of images in the garden for which we would like ideas on what plants we could put in. Also some ideas in front of the laurels too?

Welcome to the forum 
Photos don't make it very clear the position and size of the planting area but a few observations are that once your laurel grows and bulks up there wont be room  for anything else but in the meantime a few hardy geraniums would spill over the edge try cranesbill nursery for information.
The other patch looks very narrow and anything will struggle. How deep is the soil?

Looking at your second photo do I just have a half? I can see the fence, a ditch and a sleeper but that's it.
