Screening plants

Hi all, Newbie here! 
I’m creating my very first garden and am looking for help in the planting please. I’ve used some bamboo for screening a deck area but am looking for alternatives as well. I remember seeing a pretty delicate tall plant with small pink flowers on Garden rescue last year but just can’t find what it was anywhere! 
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Verbena bonariensis perhaps, although it’s more purple to my eye rather than pink

If if that’s the one don’t get the type called Lollipop’ as it much shorter than the normal one.

Might also be one of the pink forms of verbascum, sanguisorbia or gaura.    How tall does it have to be as some of these get to between 1m and 1m50 tall.
