Wisteria

Hi
What's the best way to remove wisteria so it does not keep coming back? I have cut it to the ground but cannot find the roots, perhaps they are under my summerhouse.

I do not want the wisteria and it is in the way of a climber I am trying to grow.

Thanks

Oliver

Cut it to a stump and apply SBK tree stump  killer.
  • You don't need to find the roots.  Just keep an eye on any new shoots it tries to send up and cut them off, it'll run out of energy eventually.  No toxic chemicals required (they're likely to fail anyway).
  • Ok Bob I will do that now I now where the shoots are coming from and will keep it under control.  If I plant a new clematis in the area will it take away the nutrients or likely to be ok?  Thanks
