Creeping plant ID

My front lawn is covered in these and more importantly going into borders. It's a small lawn (11x 9 feet) and may replace but it's getting bloody hard to keep digging these out of borders.

  funny how these things are. It's pretty much taken over the lawn so will have to see how it flowers!
