Succulent ID please.

I have a succulent which I have sort of identified as Crassula rubricaulis.
Could anyone confirm that for me or is it something else!!

    It's a Crassula ovata, know as a Jade plant or money tree. If you stick the bit in the picture in a pot of gritty compost it will root. They make tree like plants which need to be indoors during winter but are quite happy outside in the summer.  When mine get too big, I just take bits and grow new ones.

    Sorry but I know it is definitely not Crassula ovata (and I already have that!)  :)
    This one grows completely differently,more like a small shrub.
    I collect succulents and this one I bought as a full sized plant with no label and have just cut the whole thing back and taken over 50 cuttings.

    Is this a cutting from a larger plant or is that all you have? Just wondering what the growth habit is like and if it's flowered at all. There's quite a few crassula and even sedums that I've seen with similar leaves

    I have seen Crassula ovata, known locally as Jade plant, grown as a small shrub outside in Perth WA. (no frosts) It was about three feet high and generally looked like a small shrub, leaves all over and a thick trunk in the middle.

    Here it is compared to my Crassula ovata,different colour,leaf shape and growth pattern.It does not have a thick trunk.

    I believe it is grown as a hedge in suitable countries,sadly not here in the UK.
    Mine does go outside for a summer holiday though!!

    Does the plant have reddish stems? It's hard to tell on this screen but it looks darker than the new growth you get on Ovata. I think you may be stuck waiting for it to flower for a more positive ID though.

    The stem is red,hence C.rubricaulis (Red Stemmed!)
    I think I shall stick with this name for ID purposes for now. :)
