Plant I.D. please

bluejasbluejas Posts: 2
A friend gave me some seeds and the picture shows the resulting plants, apparently it's a prolific self seeder. The flowers are redder than they appear the the picture and they only open fully in the sun. Would any of you lovely people know what they are please?

It forms a taproot. They can be lifted and overwintered somewhere frost free, in a mild winter they survive, but they are easy from the big seeds that they have if you save a few.
