Clematis Mayleen

I have got a huge Clematis Montana Mayleen measuring approximately 11' x 16' over an overhead paved area. I have enjoyed it for over 25 years and it has been admired by many. I am disabled now and I won't be able brush all of the petals,leaves and the the stems that fall off when they do. It will prove to expensive for me not to say annoying whilst waiting for it to get cleaned up as regular as I used to do it. What can I use to kill the roots so that it won't grow back please.

    Will you be getting someone in to remove the whole thing for you?  If so, they may be able to grind out the roots for you.  If root-grinding isn't an option then, after it has been cut back to the ground, painting the stump with SBK brushwood killer (as per instructions on the pack) should do the trick.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
