John Smith

Hi all,
My sister Jacqui is 70 years old next month and I have been looking for a plant with her name. There is a fuchsia bred in New Zealand but I have struggled to get hold of it in the UK. Because of the unusual spelling, I now want to find any flower or shrub with her name. Can anyone help me please?

Thank you in anticipation.

Hello BBB and welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry but the only flowers I can discover online are 'Jacquelines'. A rose - Jacqueline du Pré and a Daphne - Jacqueline Postill. I cannot even find the Fuchsia you refer to. Good luck with your hunt.

A Verbascum called "Jackie" springs to mind, there is also a rose called "Little Jackie" but they are not being despatched until November.

Thank you for your prompt response. I found the reference on https://www.ddfgg.de/fuchsien/fuchsienverzeichnis/fuchsienverzeichnis_ausgabe_name.php?num=7049&sprache=englisch  which gave me details of the breeder in New Zealand (D & B McConchie) I contacted them but received no reply. It has a red Sepal and white petals.
    Once again
    Thank you
    John

    Hello again @BBB
I had a thought. This is the link to the British Fuchsia Society:
If you contact them with the information you have found out about the New Zealand fuchsia they might be able to help you finding it.

John, these are just a few I found on Pintrest by putting Fuchsia with White Petals and Red Sepal into Google. Have a look on there and see if you can find the one you're looking for. Please let me know how you got one.
