New to roses help please

dj_holmesdj_holmes Posts: 10
Hi there,
I am rather new to growing roses last year being the first year them. The blooms were brief and not that impressive at all. This year the plant has lots of buds and seems in good health so far, and some buds look like opening soon. I’ve noticed today spurs on the main buds like the picture below. Should I leave those spurs in place or should I cut them off? I was just wondering if they were hindering the main bud from opening.

Thanks in advance..
Duncan

Don't disbud roses. The buds at the side will make lovely blooms.  When the first one is over, remove it to give the others space. They do look healthy so enjoy.
