Aconitum bicolour

Hi all saw this gorgeous plant growing at David Austin yesterday and want to buy some. Any tips on best place to get it online and advice on cultivation? Thanks

    They are beautiful plants, I have several all white though, the bees love them

    I almost never eat flowers so should be fine.

    Lovely plants, I was looking at a purple variety recently. They are poisonous to handle (not just an irritant, like euphorbias) so wear gloves when you handle them and keep pets well away if you have any.

    I've deadheaded/cut back mine without gloves, with no ill effects. I do wash my hands after gardening though (usually, anyway :))

    Hmmm I do have 2 cats maybe I will rethink it.

    My hands are always covered in cuts and scratches and I hate wearing gloves, so that’s why I decided against it. Apparently you should always wash your hands even after wearing gloves, as it can cause numbness and heart problems! I am sure if you handled it with care and sited it away from where your cats normally go (in the middle or back of a border, say) it will be fine. Well, Lyn and Jenny are not dead yet  :D
