Hello everybody. I have a six foot rosemary bush that is lovely when there is fresh growth. It really needs cutting down as the centre is getting woody. Any advice on how hard to prune & when? Thanks
If it's quite woody, you can prune it back into these areas. Difficult to advise without knowing what you want to achieve, but it's fine to do it now. Don't leave it into autumn time, especially if you are hard pruning it back to reduce height and reduce woody branches. You can do some sections now and leave the rest for next year in early spring time.
you can cut it back now to a growing point (if you cut back to brown wood it might not come back from that), give it a good water and leave it to it, it should recover nicely for winter
