Can anyone help with my neighbours hedge ?

Small sections of my neighbours hedge are dying off.

Most of the hedge looks fine but the leaves are dying off in sections. It looks unsightly and they are worried that it may spread further.

They don't use any weed killers.

I think the hedge maybe a privet hedge ?

I can supply extra information and I've added some photos.

Any ideas ?

I would say it's Box and there are various problems with them; hopefully someone will be along who knows a bit about it.
  • Thanks Loraine. I'll ask them if it's Box.

Loraine3 is correct, the hedge is Box and that looks like Box Blight. More information here:

Might a dog or fox be peeing on it? I notice its beside a tempting gatepost.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I don't think it's a dog, B3, as there is another small section that is didn't photograph that has also died. Any dog that caused that other section to die off would have to be urinating rather athletically from the street. That said, I will mention it to them so thank you for your suggestion.

Thank you for the link Ladybird. I'll pass the link on.

That's two for box hedge problems. I'll let them know. Thanks.
