Prickly pear cactus propagation problem

i recently began to grow two prickly pear cuttings from my relatives plant, I let them callous and all that and I planted them about a week ago. Since then one of them is growing well and looks to be thriving while the other is all shriveled and curled on the edges it’s also a little softer then it used to be. can somebody please help id like to save is since I can’t get any more for a while since my relatives I got these off of (my grandparents) live a few states away, can somebody please give advice, I’m currently away from my house and won’t be home until later but I will post a picture to this thread in about 11-12 hours, but until then I’d like to have some idea of what I’m dealing with
