Cupresus Marcaponus going brown.

Firstly please pardon my atrocious spelling but those who know conifers will recognise the name.  I bought three of these trees about seven foot tall about three years ago. Tow look great but one looks rather sad with brown branches appearing.  I dug round the base and found it very dry so have started to water it daily.  Will this save it and is there anything else I could try.

Cupressus macrocarpa? Unlike other trees, conifers don't produce new green growth from the base so if your tree has started to die off, even if you manage to save it, you could be left with some bare patches. It could be that the branches either side of the dead area will cover the damage.
