Squashed ornamental grasses

I have just had a bunch of Panicum 'Heavy Metal' planted on one of my sites, which looks like a hippo has been rolling in it. It looks horrendous. Damaged in transit from the nursery. I am tempted to cut it all down and let it regrow from the base so it at least looks tidy - would that be sensible, or not?

    I'd leave it a week or so , ( nothing to lose,) before deciding.

    The plant at the bottom of the photo looks a bit battered, but I'm pretty sure they'll all perk up. I'd not cut them back if they were mine.
