Bicoloured carnation

A couple of days ago I discovered a 50% red- 50%whitish/pinkish carnation. Have you ever come across anything like that? Is it something common?

They can do that, I do not know how common it is as such. But having grown a few many years ago remember sometimes getting a variation.
Where we had a stripey or variegated flower of white with a red veining, they might go half and half petals or a bit more blocky with lumps of colour rather than the original fine lines and veins.

Sorry if I have not explained it well, but hope you get the gist .
Welcome to the forum by the way :)
