Sorry for delay in adding this post .I have googled this but you get a mixture of different ones I'd wondered if anyone could tell me the texture of the leaf.

Have you  had a search here on the forum @granma? There's been quite a few threads this year.
The leaves aren't particularly unusual in terms of appearance though, other than their arrangement and shape. They're slightly heart shaped and arranged alternately along the stems.
Do you have a photo - is it in your garden?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

My mum has it in a potted plant on the patio. The leaves are heart shape they are rough to the touch. And are covered in tiny hairs and it's a climber.I will try to get a photo.

    Japanese Knotweed isn't a climber.

OMG, it would appear that Japanese Knotweed may be the ONLY common pesky weed I DO NOT have at my cabin property.  LOL  Nothing that looks like knotweed (yet).  But I do believe I have every other one of the common Texas weeds there.

Russian vine - which is a climber - looks similar to Japanese knotweed.

Thanks ladybird ,LG and others who have sent me pms  if it isn't a climber  then we are safe .I will. Try to get a photo.
  • Significantly knot weed has hollow canes which make it easy to identify...I know too well as have quite a bit in my neighbour's gardens...it will take years to kill off.
