Lily has changed colour

EricaheatherEricaheather Posts: 204
Hi all, my mother in law has recently gone in to care and ive been given her pots to look after. She has always grown lilies in them, for at least the past 10 years . I don't know the type but she only had orange ones. They were definitely ALL orangeas they were always a talking point when we visited. One pot has bloomed and gone over...And they were white. Now another has bloomed today, and it's red. What's going on with them? She kept them in full sun all day and where I have them only gets sun from midday. Could this be the reason for the change? I'm stumped.

I think your mum must have got some more and tucked them in.

She didn't garden in the last couple of years before going in to care and she has dementia so can't ask her I'm afraid. But it is a possibility. Since posting this I've had a Google and it seems some others have experienced this on another forum. Very strange.

I have several and keep them from year to year, I’ve  never known one to change colour.
