What is this?

This plant has grown quite rapidly from a small, self seeded, potted plant to a meter or more in just a couple of years. It doesn't flower, at least not yet. Its desiduas. I've no idea what it is, I only planted out in curiosity, but as it grows I wonder if I made an error! Thanks for any help!

    Looks like a hazel sapling to me and yes, they grow fast, to abt 20-26 ft  and can sucker. I suggest you remove it asap.

    Yes - not something you want to keep , unless you have a convenient woodland!  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Yikes! Yeah, might need to remove it...!  If only I could grow things I actually wanted as well!

    I have one that I prune hard. It doesn't sucker, but you definitely need to keep on top of it
    In London. Keen but lazy.
