Wasp like insects on plum tree

Hi all,

Can anyone identify these wasp like insects that are LOVING my plum tree leaves?  Last year the tree attracted aphids and then ants, this year the leaves are white and sticky and appear covered in eggs... Aphids maybe?

The hoverflies are doing a good job eating aphids , the sticky stuff is the aphids feeding ants to protect them, that why so many ants .

    Hoverflies are the good guys.
To me they're all the good guys, we need to preserve all our wildlife. But even the spray-happy brigade like Hoverflies, they eat aphids and the don't sting
