Hello. Does anyone know what the difference is between Lonicera periclymenum, common honeysuckle and the variety Heaven Scent? Many thanks.

I'm not at all an expert so hopefully someone will come on with some more knowledge than me. But I think one of the differences is that the cultivar Heaven Scent is supposed to be a daytime scented variety, as well as evening. Am I right that the common honeysuckle is an evening scented only plant? I've just done a quick google and I think the flower colours are very similar though if that helps.

Mmm, thank you Lucid. I hadn't thought about the time they are most perfumed. Mine haven't really got going yet so I've not had much flower. I have got yards of growth though so will await developments. I'm a bit worried that I might have a honeysuckle which is more interested in producing branches and leaves more than lovely scented flowers.
