Climbing rose

Hi i have a climbing rose last year it was beautiful however this year the leaves and flowers are not developing properly the main stem still remains strong i have fed the rose at the roots and its reproduced new foliage which was very poor and not fully formed please help thanks jackie

    If possible photos would be helpful. One close up of the problem, and one showing the overall rose in situ?

    Hmm looks rather like weedkiller damage, is that a possibility?

  • Not unless someone as done it malicious like my neighbour as i av problems with them what can i do

    One thing that I would do is loosen up the ties so that the canes are less horizontal and more angled upwards, especially the ones that are going down below the horizontal.  That way the sap in the canes can flow a bit more easily.  Is there good drainage where it is planted?

    It may recover with some TLC, I had a rose like that and it did eventually start to put out healthy foliage.
