What is?

What causing this to the leaves? Yellow and black spots.

    It’s a fungal condition called hollyhock rust.

    Most hollyhocks get it I’m afraid ... not very pretty but the plants usually survive.

    Remove badly affected leaves as they die off and clear any fallen ones away from the plant.

    Otherwise there’s nothing to do 😊

    @Dovefromabove. Thank you. It also covered stem and leaves of holyhocks. Worried about marigolds, lillies, dahlias etc. Will rust spread to other plants?

    All sorts of plants get rust, but each type of plant has its own type of rust so if your other plants get rust it will be a different type ... it won’t have spread from the hollyhocks 😊
