Nasturtium still not in flower

These are 'Tom Thumb', are they supposed to get so big and leafy? Still not in flower despite being planted a while ago, they're only in b and q peat free MPC so I wouldn't have thought they were getting overfed. Any thoughts?

They get like that if you water too much, have rich compost and leaves can grow big if grown in semi shade. They flower more on thin free draining soil.

It does seem awful leafy, and the leaves are very big. I t looks to me like the normal sized nasturtium  but l wouldn't expect it to have flowered yet. Have a gentle poke around the core of the plant and see if there are any buds

There are buds, just taking their time I thought. Neighbour has a load and they've been in flower for a few weeks. They are in full sun.

I'll not water them at all then.

Are you certain the variety you've planted is tom thumb?

Well if it gets too big, you can always stand the container on something
