Politics

I’ve recently joined this website which I’m really enjoying but this morning I clicked on discussions and it was all political. I was hoping to get away from all that!!

Plenty of thread which aren't Lyn. Just ignore the ones you don't like  :)

There are 30 threads on each pages and thousands of pages, the only one where politics are mentioned is in one thread only.  And that’s the one where we can go and have a good moan.
if you avoid the Curmudgeonly Thread you shouldn’t see politics at all!
Certainly ALL of the site is not political.

Don't worry Lyn, as you get used to the site and browse around, you'll soon suss it out  :)
You can bookmark threads you are particularly interested in, just click on the little white star icon next to the title, that will turn it green. Then you can just click on "my bookmarks" and that will bring the list up.

    Me neither.

@lynbotwood - The Potting Shed is the board where we can chat about owt and nowt, not just gardening.   You'll soon learn to spot the threads to avoid.

All the other boards are self explanatory in title and we are expected to stay on topic tho, as with a good chat in the pub or between neighbours, we can digress but then come back to the main topic.

It's an eye opener. I looked at it by mistake one day  :/
After re reading Daniel's recent announcement about code of conduct/forum behaviour, I think it should be reported.

  • I'm a bit confused by this as the OP says they have recently joined but their first post was in 2017.

I must admit I quite enjoy reading the political discussions but they are very few compared to the gardening related ones.

I'd never previously looked at Having a Giggle, but did as a result of the comments here.  Have to confess I was really disappointed as it seems pretty bland at the moment.  I didn't go searching back through it to seek things to be outraged by though. :D

Edited to add:-  I take that back.  The political b******s has appeared again so my first visit will remain as my last.

I never look at the Giggle thread because I don't seem to have the right sense of humour for that sort of thing but I do enjoy a political discussion. Not a spat, a discussion.

Totally agree, @Posy. I looked at the HAG in the early stages, thought ‘ugh, not for me’ and haven’t been tempted to look again since.
