Height Needed w

harmonyharmony Posts: 368
I'm thinking of adding something with a bit of height to the middle of this area. I'm going to dig out the hardy geranium (the spring flowering one with the smelly leaves) . The area is mostly blue, purple and pale pink with a yellow hypericum hidcote (cut back this year) at the back. The area is in sun till around 4pm and is sheltered, soil is normal/clay. Any ideas welcome as I can't make up my mind. Thanks

Some roses? Or oriental poppies perhaps.  Or lavender, or penstemons?

I think you deserve a nice obelisk with an evergreen clematis on it.

I too would go for an obelisk with a clematis ... texensis Queen Mother is doing very well for us

When would you like it to flower? I'm thinking a pink achillea which would give you height in the summer but perhaps something like a day lily which would give you a different leaf shape? or a grass or two? or penstemnon? or veronic
