Would anyone be able to tell me what this is please, it has taken over when we previously had verbena bonariensis and I'm not sure if I should keep or pull out. Thank you

It could be Hedge Woundwort, Stachys Sylvatica.

Or maybe Stachys palustris...common name Marsh woundwort.

Has it got a horrible smell, I can’t bear it, I know some has grown the minute I get within feet of it.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Apparently edible but with an off putting smell!

Thank you all, I will have a look. I haven't noticed a smell but it is close to my chickens so that may be why!
