What’s wrong with my rose?
Novice gardener here. I’ve had this rose for a few years. This year it made a great start with lots of lunch foliage and buds but now it’s looking sad. Is this black spot and if so any tips on what I can for his year and next to try and prevent this happening. Thanks.

Look for long lesions on the stems like a split length ways.
The adult saw fly lay eggs in the stems.
There has been a recent past topic on this, sorry not sure where to look, or if it mentions the lifecycle.
It is a pretty rose, it is not black spot. Dare I say apart from the ruddy saw fly damage it looks nice and healthy.
watch out for the little green caterpillar looking ones and dispose of them. They tend to stop and hang around looking like too many letter C's if you disturb them.
You will know if you have them they munch the leaves pretty quickly.
I find gloves and a swift scoop and squish is best.
If you have the stomach for it. Or scrape or cut that leaf off and bag it.
I hope you don't get those.
Birds don't seem to eat them, or if they do not quickly enough.

Box blight you do.
