ID help needed (yet again)

Could one of you knowledgeable people tell me what these two plants are? i like them and I'd like to move them at some point as they're right next to my children's den.

Pittosporum for the first one. Cotoneaster perhaps for the second one. ??

  • Hi, I think the darker leaf plant is some type of cotoneaster.. I have this in my garden.
  • Thanks. I have a cotoneaster elsewhere in the garden and it looks very different. Thanks for coming back so quickly neither of these have ever flowered but they have been in the shade of a tree and a hedge for, well, before I moved here 4 years ago.

    Agree on both.
The trouble with Cotoneaster is there are many cultivars.
They can self seed and cross pollinate.
Some take several years to flower and fruit.
Although they can do quite well in shade, some do seem to flower and fruit better with some sun.

We have a similar one with the leaf spacing and shape, but it looks stiffer than yours.
Unfortunately I have no idea which it is.

You may get an answer of you can say if it is evergreen or deciduous, or semi.
And an idea of the leaf size, in centimeters or inches.
  • Definitely evergreen - both plants. Leaf size of the cottoneaster is about 1-1.5 inches. The other is half that.
