Is this an Allium that has not opened?

Sunbeam17Sunbeam17 Posts: 21
Hello, I planted this from bulb, please see photos below, expecting it to flower in May/June like the other Alliums in my garden. However it is now 7 ft tall, it has the bulb head, but it has not yet flowered.  It is in a South Facing spot, Any suggestions please

Yes - it's an allium. They don't all flower in early summer.
There's been a couple of threads  with this particular one being queried, but I'm afraid I can't remember it's name!
I expect someone else will recall though  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks Fairygirl and JennyJ, I was just about to cut this down thinking that it had passed the flowering stage. It would be useful to know if it is Summer Drummer though.

Thanks Jenny J and Fairygirl. The Alliums are starting to open now! Looks like they are Summer Drummer, thanks again for your advice :)
