Hello and can you ID these plants!

hi everyone, this looks a great forum. I planted what I thought were cosmos and cornflower seeds earlier this year, but can anyone confirm what these are for me? Thanks!

    They look like Larkspur to me ;  Delphinium spp.

    Thanks for the reply, I didn't think so, they have a strange fern style leaf. That said, flowering at the same time as my delphiniums. Got me stumped!

    Larkspur are annual Delphiniums ; the 'ferny' leaf is a giveaway !
    Like the perennial species , all parts are poisonous .

    Ahaa thanks, maybe larkspur giant imperial? Can see I bought some but cannot remember sowing them!!

    Interesting name indeed is Delphinium ; from the Greek 'Delphis' for Dolphin .
    This is especially apparent in your first picture (top-right) ; look at the shape of the pink flower buds !
