Hi. I have small white maggot like bugs in my cherries this year. What are these? How can I prevent this next year? And is it harmful if accidentally eaten?
As far as I’m aware physical prevention is the only method available, so that means using a very fine netting (less than 1mm) after the blossom has been pollinated and the fruit has set ... if your tree is too large to net the use of sticky pheromone traps as described may help.
Hopefully @paulwansbrough may see this and let us know how he’s getting on 😊
